Brookings is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy organization in Washington, DC, founded in 1916. Falk Auditorium is its main stage for policymakers and public officials from both parties, alongside scholars, to present and discuss their work in depth, with events broadcast live beyond the room.

The brief

Falk needed a broadcast-grade room that could serve an audience on site while a production team handled the live program. Camera coverage, presentation sources, microphones and remote participation had to work together across the stage and control room. ITI integrated the approved AV design in 2025, handling installation, programming and commissioning, with AV consulting and design by Pershing Technologies.

Direct view LED for Falk Auditorium

An ATS Pro 1.2 mm direct view LED wall by Taylor LED provides the presentation image at the front of Falk Auditorium. Samsung displays extend the installation into the prefunction and adjacent spaces. Chauvet fixtures provide stage lighting under ETC control for presentations and camera production.

Analog Way switching and Panasonic camera production

Panasonic 4K PTZ cameras work with Analog Way Aquilon C production switching and an AJA KUMO router. The production team operates the cameras from a controller and switches between camera views and presentation material. Blackmagic recorders preserve the event alongside its live broadcast.

Shure wireless microphones, Teams and Zoom rooms

Shure ULX-D wireless microphones provide handheld, bodypack and gooseneck options for speakers and discussions. Q-SYS processes the room audio. Crestron Flex kits support Microsoft Teams and Zoom, giving the auditorium a way to include remote participants as part of its event production.

The result

Falk now produces its live program from one control room, with camera operation, switching, recording and remote guests handled together. ITI continues to provide event and remote support under a maintenance agreement.
